I remeber the day we met with Carla and Julien in Russafa. They talked to me about their story, how they always dreamt of living together in Marseille (they just arrived to Valencia with their MRS-VLN flight) and how they decided to get married in Carla’s hometown in a relaxed, romantic style.
The venue they’ve chosen is a really unique gem on Valencia’s map as it’s a small private masÃa that offers accomodation to your closest family and leaves you 100% to the organization letting itself the blank canvas for your wedding day.
The day started really slowly letting the couple’s french guests enjoy the warmth of the Spanish summer. As Julien is a professional sax player he wanted his passion to be a part of their wedding day and let his last moments before the ceremony be spent doing what he loves.
When the groom and the guests were already waiting for the bride to walk down the meadow-like aisle to meet her husband-to-be, summer rain started and left everything beautifully glowy and fresh. Carla imagined her decor to be natural and meadow like with summer flowers, so her florists took care of leaving the aisle look like a heavenlike flowery aisle by planting the flowers directly in the ground. Throughout the ceremony the couple was surprised by their guests preparing and singing a special song and giving everyone the lyrics to sing along.
As the couple exited their ceremony, the Sun was already becoming to hide leaving us with beuatiful bluehour light.
The wedding dinner of Carla and Julien was out if a tumblr fantasy. The candles, the raindrops on the tables, Devendra Banhart’s songs making the atmosphere unique and intimate.
To end the night, we got to use the interiors of Mas dels Frares to capture Carla and Julien’s intimate celebration of their day.
